Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
You can begin by booking a consultation or submitting an inquiry through our contact page. From there, we’ll guide you to the service or support that best fits your needs.
Who should have a doula?
Anyone who desires additional support, advocacy, and guidance during their reproductive journey can benefit from a doula. Doulas are especially valuable for those who want to feel informed, supported, and heard throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Do I still need a doula if I have a supportive partner?
Yes. Doulas support both you and your partner. We help partners feel confident in how to support you, while also ensuring you have continuous, experienced care throughout labor and birth.
What does full-spectrum doula support mean?
Full-spectrum care means support across the entire reproductive journey, including preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss.
Can I have a doula if I’m giving birth in a hospital?
Yes. Doulas often provide support in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. We help you navigate the system, understand your options, and advocate for your preferences.
What if I’ve had a difficult or traumatic birth before?
You deserve support that acknowledges your past experience. We provide healing-centered care and can support you in preparing for a different, more supported experience.
What is maternal mental health support?
Maternal mental health support addresses emotional and psychological well-being during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, including anxiety, depression, grief, and identity transitions.
Do you accept insurance?
We are primarily a private-pay service. However, we can provide documentation for possible reimbursement depending on your plan. Additionally, we offer sliding scales, payment plans, and often have grant funding to offset costs.
